• KITCHEN CABINETS: Cesar Maxima 2.2 Modern Kitchen Model
  • CABINET FINISHES: Grey elm laminate and bianco glass kitchen finishes
  • ARCHITECT:Karen Topjan, MCM Designs

This stylish home in Tenafly, NJ features a large and stunning open space with huge amounts of natural light from the wide glass window fronts. It was a collaboration of our Modiani kitchen showroom and the NJ architect Karen Topjan at MCM Designs, and is a good example of how you can approach the architectural and kitchen design process in one approach. The client sought a modern custom kitchen that would seamlessly mingle with the home’s wide windows and open living space, making this space a great area for family gatherings as well as dinner parties.

To compliment the property’s modern style and interior design, our designers recommended a modern kitchen by the Italian kitchen manufacturer and designer Cesar, for which Modiani Kitchens has exclusive dealership rights across all of New Jersey. Cesar Kitchens are one of the top modern kitchen brands worldwide with 50 years’ design experience and over 600 dealers worldwide, one of which being our sister showroom, Cesar NYC Kitchens, which is located in Flatiron District, NYC.

The kitchen layout chosen is in an L-shape, which makes the cooking and dishwashing much more enjoyable due to the view of the exteriors and garden through the windows. The layout of the modern kitchen island is also in an L-shape, because of the integrated kitchen table with seating opportunities. While the kitchen island itself offers plenty of storage space, the kitchen table consists solely of a kitchen countertop attached to a metal frame. The integrated island table hence allows up to four people to enjoy a meal or simply relax while feeling connected to the open-concept living space.

In terms of the kitchen cabinet finishes and colors, a two tone kitchen color concept was chosen. For the base and tall kitchen cabinet units, grey elm laminate kitchen cabinets were utilized, which beautifully complements the two bianco glass upper kitchen cabinets that can be opened with a push pull opening mechanism, where no kitchen cabinet handles and only one finger is needed to smoothly open them. In terms of the kitchen’s backsplash and countertops, a white stone finish was chosen, which acts as a visual contrast to the gray finishes of the rest of this modern Italian kitchen design.
