Modiani Kitchens works with each client to create a design that fits the design styles and characters of the client and that also works with the space of our clients’ kitchens itself. In this beautiful residence in Franklin Lakes, NJ the living area, dining area, and kitchen are all within one large, open space. This residential kitchen is a good example of a successful collaboration between an architect and a kitchen designer, since Modiani Kitchens constantly worked with the architect Niall Cain from NCC Studio to make this modern kitchen part of the architectural interior and design concept.

The kitchen and interior space of this home both needed to be very family oriented, as the family that lives in the home is a very active and young family. The family hosts a lot of social and family gatherings, and therefore wanted a space where they could host guests and remain in contact with them even while in the kitchen preparing a meal or some drinks. For day to day use, the family wanted to be able to essentially use the family room while being physically in this high-end modern kitchen with a teak laminate cabinet finish. It was important to the family that no matter where one was in their new Italian Cesar high-end kitchen, eye contact with the television in the family room was possible, which is why an open kitchen concept was incorporated in the architect’s floor and design planning of this contemporary home.

Because the family is very lively and youthful and also enjoys hosting a lot of dinner parties, it was important to create a great deal of efficiency in this Italian custom kitchen. To address this desire, Modiani Kitchens created two working stations and installed two sinks – one beneath a window on an outer wall and one within the kitchen island in the center of the kitchen. The kitchen island also features extra countertop space so that family members can sit for a quick meal around the kitchen island, a feature that was very important to this on-the-go family. Our Modiani kitchen design team installed two pull out pantries and additional kitchen cabinetry in teak laminate in the dining area of the family room, creating a great deal of storage space for the family.
