In the tall kitchen cabinet section, finger pull channels are utilized, creating a smooth unbroken appearance on the cabinets themselves. This section also includes a fully integrated refrigerator, a speed oven, and an integrated coffee maker, all of which were provided by the high-end kitchen appliance supplier Miele. For the kitchen layout, a U-shaped Italian Cesar kitchen cabinetry layout was chosen that gives the room its shape and highly functional design. Besides the finger pulls, this modern kitchen features sleek, straight kitchen handles in a silver finish and also incorporates a push pull media center. The same opening mechanism was also used for the office space that is part of this open concept design.
Visually, the room and overall have a calming effect due to the deep and neutral kitchen cabinet colors that were utilized. Vertical elements such as the tall kitchen cabinet section and the vertical positioning of the glass tile backsplash over the cooking area work to create the illusion of height, making the room feel larger than it actually is. Behind the bar counter, the same kitchen cabinet materials, wood grain and laminate, were used to create an office space, extending the visual appeal of the kitchen countertops and kitchen cabinetry into the interior space and creating a cohesiveness between the office space and the kitchen.
To round off this sleek kitchen design, two additional contrasts were used. These include a kitchen and office space flooring made of light, natural wood and the kitchen backsplash, which uses small, vertical tiles in a gray finish that make this area visually stand out. The nice thing about this kitchen is that the TV, which is frequently used by the home owners, was integrated into the kitchen design, which allows the chef to prepare a meal and to watch a movie or the news at the same time.
